Honoring Veterans around the District

Rep. Hogan began Veterans Day 2023 in her hometown of Stow where the Rotary of Nashoba Valley and the town of Stow hosted the return of Stow’s Annual Veterans Day Breakfast to thank and honor Stow Veterans for their service to our country.

In particular, The Quilts of Valor group from the Stow COA presented 26 Stow Veterans with handmade quilts to honor their service. Rep. Hogan was honored to offer remarks – along with Senator Jamie Eldridge and the Keynote Speaker Retired Rear Admiral Edward Cashman, Dean of the College of Maritime Operational Warfare at the US Naval War College, Newport, RI.

In Hudson, the Veterans Day Parade stepped-off from Hudson AMVETS Post 208 on South Street and marched down to Houghton and up Main Street. The Marchers and Parade-goers gathered at the Town Hall for messages of thanks, music, and words of recognition, and remembrance to honor and celebrate Hudson Veterans. The number of kids and teens who march as scouts, ROTC, and musicians was impressive and brought another level of meaning to these Veterans events.

Special shout-out to a new Hudson resident who gave the keynote, Command Chief Master Sgt. William Hebb. Hebb was the senior enlisted advisor for Hanscom Air Force Base and recently retired to Hudson with his family.

In Maynard, Veterans Day keeps faith with all who have served and is our promise that we will never take that service, or your sacrifice, for granted. Shout out to Maynard-Clinton Lodge of Elks and all who volunteered, marched, provided music and spoke. May we commit to an America worthy of our veterans and Godspeed to all those in our armed forces who stand in harm’s way.

Bolton Loco, with the support of the town of Bolton, hosted a Veterans Day Luncheon and Hometown Heroes Banner dedication on Veterans Day. The celebration included a Hometown Heroes Motorcade with the Bolton Police, Fire, and EMS escorting Veterans in their own vehicles through the center of town to view the five new banners. The Scouts stood sentry under each banner and saluted the motorcade.

Rep. Hogan was happy to join the Veterans Day/Hometown Heroes Luncheon hosted by the Trinity Church. Veterans and their guests were honored by local officials and supporters throughout the Luncheon. Thanks to the organizers Linda Day, Leslie Caisse and Karen Regan along with contributions from all of Bolton!

Rep. Hogan was also honored to participate in special wreath-laying ceremonies held by the Towns of Stow and Maynard, during which hundreds of holiday wreaths were placed on Veterans’ graves.
