Assabet Co-op Market Opens for Business

After 10 years, hundreds of organizing events, more than 2,100 proud co-op owners, hundreds of investors who donated more than $2 million and countless volunteer hours, opening day for the Assabet Co-op Market arrived!

The market is a thrilling accomplishment for all members, shareholders, and residents and a profound addition to Maynard’s (and the region’s) food shopping options. Much of the inventory will be sourced from within a 100-mile radius; if it’s not, it will be harvested from sustainable sources. This helps local farmers stay viable.

Rep. Hogan joined the celebratory ribbon cutting and offered congratulations to all involved, including: Sam McCormick, General Manager; Lorne Bell, Operations Coordinator; Leah Ciappenelli, president of Assabet Co-op Board of Directors
