Rep. Hogan visits UMass Amherst campus for look at 21st Century Solutions

Rep. Kate Hogan met with UMass Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy, UMass Staff and faculty, and Amherst-area House colleagues for a day of tours, presentations, and discussions centered around 21st Century solutions at her alma mater, the University of Massachusetts’ flagship campus.
 
The delegation toured the UMass Amherst campus to see first-hand how the world-renowned research institution is:
 
– Engaged in creating a NET CARBON ZERO campus by 2050 and taking on climate change through bold and innovative actions, developing solutions, and working collaboratively. https://www.umass.edu/carbon-neutrality/
 
– Funding the WET LAB project and their partnership with government and industry, to hasten response to the growing health concern of PFAS in our water, soil and air.
 
– A supporter of the work of the EXTENSION SERVICE in addressing the needs of agriculture and understands the mission of a land grant university to provide teaching, research and public service to benefit people in Massachusetts and the role of the extension service in succeeding.
