Massachusetts Moves to Protect Abortion Access

Rep. Hogan joined House Speaker Mariano, Senate President Spilka, Governor Healey, Lt. Governor Driscoll, Attorney General Campbell, the Massachusetts Congressional delegation, State House Leadership, Mayor Wu and advocates and leadership at UMass, to announce that Massachusetts will continue to provide and protect access to reproductive care and to mifepristone, the drug used in medical abortions.

Gov. Healey issued an executive order to clarify that Massachusetts law protecting abortion access from out-of-state prosecution extends to medical abortion (pills) too. She also announced that the University of Massachusetts Amherst ordered 15,000 doses of mifepristone that it will distribute to providers, enough to ensure coverage for more than one year.
