Bolton Manufacturer Honored at 7th Annual Massachusetts Manufacturing Awards Ceremony

Bolton-based Headwall Photonics was honored at the Massachusetts Legislative Manufacturing Caucus’ 7th Annual Manufacturing Awards Ceremony, which took place September 16th along with a “Massachusetts Manufacturing ‘Mash-Up’” at Polar Park in Worcester. Nominated by Representative Kate Hogan (D-Stow), Headwall Photonics was selected for its outstanding leadership skills in the manufacturing industry.

“The Annual Manufacturing Awards celebrate an industry that’s vitally important to the Massachusetts economy. I’m thrilled to recognize a manufacturer from the Third Middlesex District that, in many ways, represents the future of manufacturing — Headwall Photonics is a global player in the fast-growing photonics marketspace and it’s very exciting to have them headquartered here in Bolton,” said Rep. Kate Hogan.

Headwall Photonics was founded in 2003 as part of a divestiture from Agilent Technologies and, today, is a global leader with facilities and partners around the world. Headwall designs and manufactures a new class of instruments called spectral imaging sensors that are used in remote sensing, advanced machine vision, medical-biotech, and defense applications.

David Blair, VP Product Development at Headwall Photonics said, “On behalf of everyone at Headwall, we’re honored by this recognition as a long-time Massachusetts manufacturer of high-end photonic components and imaging systems that demand high precision and consistency in performance so that users can inspect and grade food and manufactured goods, measure color accurately, monitor our changing environment, and keep our troops safe.”
